Community members and local organisations have united to support the affected family as they begin rebuilding.

A tragic fire occurred yesterday at a property on Daleham Road in Mondeor. Although no injuries were reported, the resident has been left deeply traumatised by the incident.

Mondeor CPF Sector 2 chairperson, Shane Thaver, praised the response to the emergency. He said: “Yesterday truly showed the strength of our community and how effectively community members, CPF structures, and emergency services work together during emergencies.”

He confirmed that Mondeor CPF Sector 2 has made trauma counsellors available and has engaged with the affected family to assess how the community can best support them during this difficult time.

The family, together with the CPF, is appealing to the community for assistance as they begin the process of rebuilding their lives. A drop-off point has been arranged at Sasol Columbine in Suideroord for anyone who is able to contribute.
