At 18h57 on Saturday evening, a lapa fire was reported to our watchroom. Within 9 minutes, our crew were on scene and immediately started stripping thatch to contain the spread.

By 21h07, the flames were brought under control, the scene stabilized, and our team was safely back at their Patch.

On 20 January at 09:21, our crews responded to a s On 20 January at 09:21, our crews responded to a solar-related lithium-ion battery fire at an office park in Roodepoort, Gauteng.

Fire Ops SA was first on scene with 9 vehicles, working alongside municipal services.

With temperatures peaking at 3 000°C during flashover, crews remained on site overnight to prevent thermal runaway and re-ignition.

Crews remain on standby.
